In an effort to spice up the front page, the graphics staff member assigned to the front page graphic of the December issue was tasked with helping create a more magazine-like cover. Anya Garibashvily volunteered to execute the graphic. She pulled inspiration from her classmates and what they tended to play during class including some Google games like Snake and Minesweeper, as well as other games like 2048, the Run series, and Tetris. Originally, the silhouette was gray, but after some critiquing from the news editors and the executive editors of the newspaper, they agreed that more color was needed and so the abstract patterns were added to add more color and draw attention to the page. This piece could not have been made to this extent without collaboration and constant communication.
